We now have this Newsweek report from crumb-sniffer Isikoff which claims that Fitzgerald briefly stopped by the offices of James Sharp, Bush’s private lawyer, just before going into the courthouse on Friday and indicting Libby. The press had Libby and Rove staked out on Friday morning, even putting out in detail what time each of […] This is the Isikoff-free version from the Washington Post. Also, Libby tried to plea bargain but Fitzgerald turned him down because Libby wouldn’t take “serious jail time” as part of the deal. And he wouldn’t stop obstructing justice either. The Vietnam War that is, back in 2001.
