You’re driving around Washington DC, drunk at over twice the legal limit, minding your […] This was said yesterday, in May 2008, by a Presidential candidate: “I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on,” she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article “that found how Sen. Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, […] It’s now impossible for Clinton to get the most pledged delegates OR the popular vote among Democrats nationwide. Harold Ford, a Clinton surrogate, just admitted this on national television (and called for an Obama-Clinton ticket repeatedly). The campaign is effectively over and Obama is the nominee, I predict. This is a direct result of the recent US Supreme Court decision upholding the Indiana poll tax-style restrictions on voting. It discriminates heavily against the elderly and minorities. Yesterday I told a friend that due to Indiana’s intense conservatism, you could expect the official election mechanisms there to tilt heavily against Obama, thus making it probably impossible for him to win, even if he had more support in the state.  Now we have this. This is what we need to see on a regular basis until the war ends. ILWU puts themselves on the line, once again. That’s seven (7) tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan for one individual soldier. And John McCain wants one hundred, “a thousand,” more years of it. |
