First of all let me say that I’ve been a vocal critic of Woodward’s “confidential source” reporting for years – however this time he has let other news outlets (such as CBS) hear his actual audiotapes of interviews, in order to knock down any charges of inaccuracy on his part. There are things reported in this book that are absolutely devastating to Bush if proven true – for example, that he secretly diverted $700 million appropriated by Congress to fight terrorism in Afghanistan to his secret Iraq war plan. I’m going to start listing the various revelations here as I become aware of them – please add others as comments if you wish, since today is the day of the book’s release.
