Yesterday seven U.S. soldiers died in one day. Today, five soldiers died in attacks in one day. This made a rare combination all by itself, then came the news that also today a Marine helicopter crashed in Iraq, killing at least 31 Marines. The “Iraq Coalition Casualties” list, which is always accurate, went up by an increment of 37 in the last 24 hours, which means that another soldier must have died of his wounds. How many deaths of this type will it take to “free” the entire world, as promised in the inauguration speech? Here’s what the Chosen One said:
Asked about polls that showed declining support among Americans for the war in Iraq, he said, “The story today is going to be very discouraging to the American people.”
