If “necessary” – this just happened, Bush refuses to answer questions about it which gives the show away. Now the question is whether Frist will even allow the scheduled vote to take place.
Here is what this is all about: the Bolton opponents have figured out that he requested and read wiretaps on CIA and State analysts that disagreed with his wild pre-war claims of Iraqi WMD, just as he has been proven to have done with Syrian and Cuban claims that were totally false. If Bush produced the information on the 36 names requested, this would be proof that “the facts and the intelligence were being fixed around the policy,” as the DSM says, so zealously that loyal Americans were being wiretapped if they refused to go along. Bush has got to get Bolton IN to a high ranking position, to make it harder to prosecute him. This is why the worst pre-war liars and wrongdoers, like Rice and Gonzales, got promoted after the election.
