Cheney and Bush Were on Vacation at the Same Time

This is just a factual observation that has just hit my brain like a sledgehammer: Bush is trying to use, as part of his own defense, the excuse that he and Cheney were unaware of events because they were both on vacation, Bush in Crawford until Wednesday (although Blanco declared a state of emergency and asked FEMA to take over the previous Friday) and Cheney in Wyoming until Thursday.

Four years after the “lessons of 9/11,” The President and the Vice President of the United States both continued their vacations, 4 days and 5 days after the State of Emergency was declared by Governor Blanco, a FULL WEEK after Katrina hit Florida, killing 11 people and picking up steam over the Gulf. They were on scheduled vacations, which they refused to leave even days after the hurricane hit and then the levees broke, at the same time.
