Washington Post – alternate version, courtesy of Judith Miller: “It’s Scooter Libby.” Looks like lots of folks are “on message” and have the talking points together despite all these “silly” laws against witness tampering and coordinating testimony. Next we’ll hear that Libby made the Niger forgeries on his Commodore 64 and a Xerox machine.
Associated Press has independently done the same story basically. What does this all mean? Briefly, Rove’s story doesn’t fit with the evidence and what the reporters he talked to have said; Libby’s story doesn’t fit with the evidence and what the reporters that he talked to have said; and finally:
Rove’s story and Libby’s story contradict each other.
