Torture Meltdown on Secret Prisons

Frist and Hastert call for an investigation – but only of who “leaked” the truth to the American people about the secret prisons. Not just wrong, but stupid. A few hours later, Trent Lott tells CNN that the “leaker” was a GOP Senator. Frist tries to back out of his previous fake indignation, but can’t because by this time, the CIA itself has asked for an investigation into who leaked the fact that the CIA was running secret torture prisons in eastern Europe. The day before, Bush had stated “we do not torture” to the world in a press appearance, while on the very same day the top news story in the Washington Post is about Cheney’s insistence on a CIA exception to the McCain anti-torture law. So who gets the brunt of that contradiction? the Press Secretary to the President, of course. Forget who said what about chats with reporters; now you will see McClellan pinned to the wall on the simple question of why the US wants exceptions to an anti-torture law, if the US doesn’t torture anyone.

NOT TO BE MISSED. WATCH THE MCCLELLAN VIDEO

Here is the first half of the above video for those that don’t have Quicktime 7. And here is the press briefing part. Both are still Quicktime movies though, you need at least QT6 to see it.
