Abu Gonzales stepped up to the plate for his part in the Rovian PR campaign to “popularize” illegal spying on Americans today. This was at Georgetown Law School. A number of the law students stood up on their chairs and turned their backs to him, which definitely distressed the Georgetown people hosting the event. CNN chose instead to show this picture:
Which is a much more “standard” protest picture and gives the appearance of “unruly” students causing a disruption. However, someone (probably Keith Olbermann) will show the students with their backs turned on the media today. Georgetown law students are the cream of the crop in American academia; to have them stand up and turn their back on the Attorney General of the United States is serious symbolism not often seen since the Vietnam days.
