According to Murray Waas, Cheney on July 12, 2003 ordered Libby to leak the CIA document of Wilson’s debriefing when he returned from Niger. Libby did so, and during these same “leak” sessions with reporters, outed Valerie Plame, that very day. This is not the famous National Intelligence Estimate, this is a document, that was classified, ABOUT JOE WILSON, and so it makes perfect sense that Libby would have maliciously “thrown in” the false claim that “Wilson’s wife got him the job,” a lie they have been pushing ever since, at exactly this point in time (Libby in fact outed Plame on this very day, July 12, 2003). This also is the perfect explanation why reporters like Miller and Cooper would never say who it was that told them “Wilson’s wife sent him on the trip,” they didn’t want people to figure out that they got that particular false story at the same time they got Plame’s CIA identity – it would have helped nail Libby as the leaker.
