Four Guantanamo prisoners attempted suicide almost simultaneouly yesterday. When guards tried to intervene, there was a small riot. The place is such a living hell that guards risk their live to make sure that prisoners who cannot leave and can’t receive a trial also can’t die with dignity. This is insanity; the UN has called for the prison to be closed and they are correct.
