International Herald Tribune– This means that at a minimum that the US has lost the Afghan war and some of the most loyal to Bush are breaking with his “stay the course” strategy. Combine Frist’s invite to his Taliban friends with this story from only five days ago:
“Sheikh Osama is all right. He is safe,” Dadullah told ABC News’ Rahimullah Yusufzai. Dadullah would not disclose the location from where he was calling.
In the past, Dadullah has issued statements to the effect that bin Laden and Taliban leader Mulla Mohammad Omar are alive and leading the resistance against U.S.-led foreign forces in Afghanistan.
UPDATE: Paper reports British-Taliban deal. Seems that Frist would approve of this too, judging from his remarkable statements today.
Were it not for the sex scandal this Frist turnabout would most definitely be the #1 story in the country. I guarantee you it worries Bush more than Mark Foley and Dennis Hastert.
