I’d like to re-highlight this article from the Washington Post, in which they describe the interview by Taguba of Col. Pappas on February 3rd of this year (a classified document). Pappas, the chief of MI and then starting on Nov. 19, 2003 in charge of Abu Ghraib himself, states that the use of un-muzzled dogs was urged and approved by Gen. Geoffrey Miller, who is now the warden of Abu Ghraib. On Rumsfeld’s most recent (and I believe last-ever) trip to Iraq as Defense Secretary, he went straight to the prison and met privately with Miller (who he made head of the Prison May 1 despite the fact that Taguba’s report, dated March 3 2004, names Miller as “directly and indirectly responsible” for the torture) for quite some time…
