In addition to this, there are now rumors that Bush wants to replace Maliki with a man named Mahdi, who is #2 in the Iraqi SCIRI party behind Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim. Who is SCIRI? The party founded in Iran and backed by the Iranians. Why would Bush accuse the Iranians of being behind the bloodshed in Iraq while setting up a pro-Iranian leader to take over the country? Because “Iranian interference” is simply an excuse for the fact that he is losing the war. It has nothing to do with any US national security concern about Iran.
