After the denials, the <"a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/16/washington/16attorneys.html?ex=1329282000&en=033fdf8710e5653b&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss"l">truth comes out, the White House absolutely was directly involved in the firing of an accomplished US Attorney, and replaced him with the former chief of Bush-Cheney campaign opposition research. It’s a bullseye direct hit, proving the charge that there is political motivation in this unprecedented wave of firings. It also sheds light on Miers’ prior nomination to the Supreme Court; in both instances the motivation was covering up for wrongdoing in the White House by stacking the deck, once with the court and once with the prosecutors, and Bush’s own lawyer right in the middle of both affairs.
