Nuclear “Intel” On Iran is Bogus

A lot of interesting news reports on the US, Iran and Iraq this weekend. First from the UN via the LA Times, we learn that the US has been feeding bogus intel to the UN about the Iranian nuclear program. The US lied extensively in 2002-2003 about Iraq’s literally non-existent nuclear program so this is significant. Then we have the incomparable Seymour Hersh in the New Yorker giving the first broad view I have seen of the new US policy on Iraq and Iran. The news is not good, in fact it’s the most frightening of his many articles about the US and Iran over the last year or so. And finally, in a very serious reversal Sadr withdrew his cooperation for the failed Baghdad “surge” security plan. This was in the wake of two massive bombings, one in Baghdad, over the weekend.

Apologies for the blog being down most of Sunday, we may be moving to a new faster hosting site soon thanks to our great benefactor.
