You cannot plead the fifth if you’ve been given immunity, and you can’t refuse a full immunity offer. It’s worth it.
UPDATE: NPR reports that the Republicans on the Committee asked for, and Conyers granted, a delay of a week on the immunity vote. A 2/3 vote is needed to grant immunity. Instead, they will vote to subpoena Goodling tomorrow as a witness and vote in a week on immunity. I think the GOP members want to see what happens with Gonzales first; if he tanks in the hearing (and he will), they will suddenly develop a lot more interest in finding out what Goodling has to say.
