GONZALES MAKES PATRIOT ACT APPOINTMENT AFTER CONGRESS BANS IT

Because although he agreed to the bill stripping the secret Patriot Act provision out months ago, Bush has not signed it. Now why would they take such a provocative and controversial action? Arrogance and hubris? I don’t think so. This has to do with their desperate desire to keep a lid on the Jerry Lewis investigation. Carol Lam was fired last year with “no extensions” in order to stop the Lewis investigation. It was then “transferred” to Debra Yang, the US Attorney for Los Angeles. Yang, who was on the purge list, suddenly quit and took a $1.5 million bonus to go to work for Jerry Lewis’ own defense firm. You can’t make this stuff up. George Cardona was politically planted in order to make sure that this investigation goes nowhere, and now by a secret and discredited cowardly fiat act, banned by Congress with Bush’s agreement to the ban, he’s been made permanent. They’re doing this because they’re desperate, not because they’re “confident” they can get away with it.
