It’s official. Note how the US media continues to cover this story as if it’s happening on the moon. Most of the time there is no mention whatsoever of the US role in creating the situation; in the powerlessness of the US to prevent it now due to a severe lack of troops; nor any mention of US diplomacy being conducted now to head this off. Rice herself is in the Middle East yet there is no talk of her visiting anyone to ask that this be stopped. It’s treated like a weather story.
