The defense in the Rick Davis/Freddie Mac story (claiming that after a certain date Davis could not have received any money from his firm) has just been blown to bits. AFTER the date that McCain and Palin officially claim that Davis “recused himself” from the firm and separated himself from any profits, the McCain 2008 campaign paid the firm $90,000 for Davis’ services as McCain Campaign Manager. This means that both McCain and Palin lied when defending Davis’ Freddie Mac lobbying scandal. Â Of course as Newsweek reported this week, Davis is on the board of the firm still, and is its Treasurer. Â This means he has no excuse for not knowing of the payments on his behalf.
