Colonel Thomas Pappas, Military Intelligence, who took over Abu Ghraib on Nov. 19, 2003 as part of the “Gitmo-ization” of the prison, is named by another MI officer as being involved in the disappearance of a murdered prisoner at Abu Ghraib. On the left below is Pappas; on the right is the victim, Manadel al-Jamadi, packed in ice in a body bag. The New York Times also covered the court martial hearing for MP Spec.
