GM, now bankrupt, idles the Saturn factory in Spring Hill, Tennessee. E. L. Gaylord mysteriously bought up all the land he could at the future Tennesse location of the factory, just before it was built, and made a mint from General Motors when they magically chose Gaylord’s land purchases as the spot to build. This was years after Gaylord had secured a whopping tax break for the now-defunct Oklahoma City GM plant.
