Two otherwise unrelated stories to read.  One is about the hit-and-run death of Neal Alan Smith in St. Petersburg, Florida.  The best news writing I’ve read in a week, other than the Time magazine article on militias posted below.  Less impressive but certainly a fascinating puzzle piece is this article by the reporter targeted by James O’Keefe and his apparently now-dissolved Republican dirty tricks squad.
