For some reason, a “reality” show that featured a rich, well fed woman shooting defenseless, harmless animals with a rifle in a staged event for corporate TV cameras got bad ratings. Go figure. Although Congressional Republicans postponed business for a week in respect for their colleague shot through the head by an anti-federal-government maniac, Palin’s TV show enjoyed it’s “season finale,” er, series finale, on Sunday, along with a “marathon” that included (at least twice) footage of her shooting a caribou in cold blood. Although hunters during the TV series run criticized her as inept with handling a rifle, we all know she’s very familiar with the view through the scope.
This map was still on Palin’s web page Saturday morning when Jared Loughner called a cab to take him to go shoot his Congressional representative. 18 of the 20 Democrats targeted there had won re-election over two months ago, yet the page was still displayed by Palin. What was the map supposed to mean after the election was settled?
