WASHINGTON POST-This is proof of a crime. It means Jay Bybee wrote the first torture memo to rationalize and “legalize” tortures that had already been done to Abu Zubaydah. It means he wrote the memo in part to cover up for something that had already been done, approved by Rice and Ashcroft. By the way, Zubaydah never gave up any useful information whatsoever, once the torture began. The only useful information from him came when civilized and legal, Geneva-approved interrogation methods were used.
