Washington Monthly – inching towards a bombshell

This work-in-progress report from Josh Marshall finally clarifies some of the intriguing and confusing predictions he’s been making about the Niger yellowcake fraud story. He flatly states that Italian military intelligence “planted” the forged documents, which led in short order to Bush’s false claims to Congress about Iraq-Niger “uranium deals,” used to justify the Iraq War resolution; and also to the infamous false statement in the 2003 State of the Union address.
